Cider Pressing Party

The CoCreate Project is happy to be carrying forward SJU’s tradition of hosting an annual cider pressing party with the larger community. This will be year 12 of this fan favorite event!

We hope you’ll join for this free and fun apple pressing party on the front patio between 2-4:30pm on Saturday, August 15. You can hop in to help with washing, chopping, cranking, and of course tasting fresh apple juice. It’s family friendly, kids and grownups both have a blast at this sweet time in community!

We press apples from the SJU trees and also invite neighbors to contribute some of your harvest. Bring apples if you have them but don’t let it stop you if you don’t, plenty show up! This is a communal pressing so all the apples get mixed together, we’re not able to accommodate private batches. Do bring a juice container to take some cider home with you.

It takes a good amount of people power to pull off this big community event! By moving it over to CoCreate we’re hoping to bring in some extra help. Please consider signing up to volunteer – we have many ways you can help out before, during, and after the event. Click here to add your name to the volunteer sign up sheet. If the Google sheet is giving you trouble email cocreate@stjohnunited.org.

You’ll find us out front at 5515 Phinney Ave N, across from the west entrance to the zoo. You can park in our lot around the back of the building, and the 5 bus also stops out front. See you there!
