Community Garden

THE GOALS OF OUR ORGANIC GARDEN:

  • A source of organic food for the community and PNA (Phinney Neighborhood Association) hot meal program
  • A peaceful place for reflection
  • Serve as a visible product of land stewardship and a healthier urban environment
  • Serve as a community learning place for sustainable urban agriculture and garden practices
  • Support pollinator habitat and corridors
  • Preserve community open space

Where: SJU Community Garden, along Greenwood Avenue and adjacent to the parking lot.

When: Community Work parties are most second Saturdays, depending on the season.  All are welcome to join.

WANT TO GROW WITH US?

We are growing our food oasis garden for the 2023 season and would love to grow with you! If you have an interest in gardening, urban agriculture, or growing fresh organic produce, here is how to sign up:
1. Review our 2023 SJU Community Garden Guidelines and Agreement 
2. Contact us, using the form below.
3. You will receive directions on how to submit your signed agreement and plot request to our garden committee.
4. Identify your preferred plot from the SJU CG SITE PLAN (2021.01.26)  or from the markers in the garden. 
5. Once our garden committee replies, confirming your agreement and your plot, please submit your annual materials fee. You may click HERE and enter the amount in the “SJU Community Garden” box. Or you may mail a check for your materials fee to:  St John United Lutheran Church, Attn: Garden, 5515 Phinney Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103.  On the memo line, note “Community garden plot #__.”
